I am very blessed to be married to my best friend, Kirk Walker, and I am also a mom to four great kids, Caleb, Corbin, Maddy, and Mackenzie. As a family, we enjoy leading an active lifestyle. The kids keep me busy, and I would not trade it for anything. Our favorite time of year is summer. We are able to kayak the river, ride bikes, play at the park, go fishing, and play our version of hockey.

I was introduced to CrossFit in October of 2013, and I found it to be challenging and rewarding. It didn't take long for me to become hooked.  My love of running began during Cross Country and Track in high school.  I recently started running again in March of 2010. I advanced from one mile at a time to conquering a half marathon trail runs through the woods.  It was a great accomplishment for me in my newly inspired running journey.  My renewed love for running lead me to the position of Head Coach at Chesaning Union High School for Boys and Girls Cross Country and also Head Coach for Girls Track and Field. My goal for running has always been the same - to go faster. CrossFit came into my life at a great time, and the sport has changed my life forever.

With CrossFit, I have set many new goals for myself.  Skills can always be perfected, new one rep max's to be set, or simply learning a new skill are among a few of my goals.  These goals are not the only thing that brings me back to the box.  The supportive community atmosphere is amazing.  No one is ever left behind and is cheered on to the end.  I love seeing others conquer their fears, increase their weights, or completing their first WOD.  It is inspiring to watch the athletes forge ahead in their journey of fitness. CrossFit will push each athlete beyond their comfort zone to a stronger self.  I have not always been a fitness athlete, but I see many years of fitness ahead of me.

I hope as athletes/coaches, we can encourage adults and children to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle. Best part of all it is also FUN!
